First Grade Pledge of Allegiance

First Grade

Curriculum at a Glance

Students leave behind “wall words” and third grade buddies to build an academic and spiritual foundation rooted in greater independence. Students begin earning letter grades on report cards in the first grade to mark progress. Creativity, hands-on activities, cooperative learning, special projects, and field trips are used in combination with academic instruction to make learning interesting and fun.

Grade one enjoys working on the smart board, daily reading groups, and working with different art media.  In Math students learn addition and subtraction facts, how to solve and write word problems, and how to use tally marks.
